Hannah Sattler -
Grew up surrounded by a close knit extended family in Milwaukee, starting out on the west side, moving to the north shore at age 7. Attended Milwaukee Jewish Day School, Camp Interlaken JCC, and was an active member of Wisconsin Region B'nai B'rith Youth Organization. Graduated from the University of Wisconsin receiving a bachelors of science in Retail Management.
She learned to enjoy, explore and experience food by watching her grandparents, Sy and Bunny Dolnick cook in the kitchen. Sy loved to do Asian food and really wanted to challenge himself, joked that a meal was not a meal unless he used his wok to cook it. Bunny, was great at all the traditional food and making sure there were always treats for all the grandkids, especially the frozen chocolate covered bananas and freezing 20-30 pints of blueberries and encouraging the kids to eat them frozen, as long as she had enough left to bake with.
Hannah had worked in investments before becoming a mom in 2006 and choosing to be a stay at home mom. When home she started to volunteer in the community as a BBYO advisor, the MJF and with Congregation Beth Israel with programming and sisterhood. Later Hannah formed Kehillah Catering at Congregation Beth Israel and slowing grew it into a catering business for the synagogue community. Now Hannah's Kitchen gives her a way to share her love for food and Judaism with the community and be a part of so many people's lives. Allows Hannah to really be creative and explore food and use her love and knowledge of Judaism and its traditions.
Hannah is a single mother of three daughters Rebecca (10), Eva(8) and Miriam(3). Rebecca and Eva attend Milwaukee Jewish Day school following in Hannah's footsteps and Rebecca is going on to her fourth year at Camp Interlaken JCC, and Eva is already planning her first summer there. Rebecca has a love of food, her favorites include sushi, saracha on anything, and steak. Eva loves to help make pies, pesto and anything Hannah lets her, though she likes to boast about being a picky eater, but she is growing out of that. Miriam loves watching Hannah test cook at home and is always willing to taste.
Hannah's Kitchen is a business born of love of community and good food.
